Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, USA
11:15–12:30 CT: Doc Dochtermann, Lynn Jesus (contributor)
Scheduling is often seen as the beginning, and almost the finest deliverable, of PM practices within an organization. But scheduling is not, and definitely should not, be a finite practice. As organizations begin to mature and develop deeper and broader PM practices into a more EPM framework, scheduling must mature as well. This presentation will address the growth of scheduling within a maturing organization through alignment within a PPM maturity model. The history of EPM is reviewed, as well as current EPM application within an organization, and the scalability of the PPM maturity model and its effects on organizational growth and expansion of PM practices.
4:15–5:30 CT: Cindy Lewis
In this presentation, you will review and discuss the benefits of portfolio management and how the project management office can be involved in the project management maturity level of the organization. You will learn about the features and capabilities of SharePoint 2010. You will learn about the integration of Project Professional 2010 with SharePoint 2010 and you will see the portfolio and business intelligence advantages of using Project Server 2010 with SharePoint 2010. By the end of the presentation you will have a better understanding of the combinations of technologies that are recommended for various maturity levels in an organization and will be able to tie this information back to your organization.
